HTI was established in 2009 through a joint effort of five Messianic congregations in Haifa, with Shavei Tzion taking a lead role since 2011. HTI’s vision is to strengthen the Russian-speaking Messianic body in Israel and to train future Messianic leaders.
The majority of the students come from Russian-speaking Messianic congregations in the Greater Haifa area, and there are online students from Russia, Ukraine, Germany and the U.S. Each course attracts from 25 to 50 students – either leaders of Messianic congregations or prospective future leaders.
HTI is planning on enlarging its student body, which will be done by adding online study resources. Russian-speaking believers throughout the world will have access to courses such as “Jewish Roots of Christian Faith”.
HTI offers two distinct study programs:
-A four-month program for basic Biblical studies (that enables the student to accumulate points instead of a full diploma)
-A fully accredited two-year program of Biblical and Messianic Studies (accredited by New Geneva Theological Seminary and MJBI)
